Do the Packets come consecrated already?

Frequently Asked Question:

Do Oil Vaults come pre-consecrated?

  • The short answer is no, each Oil Vault does not come already consecrated.
  • This is the number 1 question we get. Do you bless the oil before sending it out? How do I bless it? Consecrating oil and performing the blessing are personal to each person. We don't consecrate the oil before sealing the container. The LDS church handbook instructs priesthood holders to bless an open container.
  • When you need to use the oil for a blessing, just tear open the Oil Vault and consecrate the oil using the instructions on the back of the Oil Vault. Then you can proceed with anointing and sealing the blessing.

Why do we call them packets for consecrated blessing if the oil isn't consecrated yet?

  • People are generally used to calling oil vials consecrated oil vials. People seem to be more confused when we previously called them unconsecrated oil packet or unconsecrated oil vials. To help people more quickly get when the product is we call them oil packets or oil vials for consecrated blessings.
